Ritchey Megabite Z-Max W.C.S.™
COMING SUMMER 2025
“Has the dirt changed”?
During the late 80's and into the mid-90's, there were few mountain bike tires as effective as the Ritchey Megabite Z-Max W.C.S™. Light and fast with phenomenal grip, these tires blew the doors off of whatever else I was riding at that time. The 2.35” size in particular was an absolute juggernaut in the rocky terrain of Colorado.
I still ride those 80’s and 90’s bikes. If you’re here reading this, you probably do too. And since we know the answer to the question that Tom Ritchey himself famously asked with regards to the fashion aspect of the tire game, “Has the dirt changed?”, we also know that there is still a demand for 26” tires that fit right, perform amazingly, and don’t look stupid on our precious old machines.
As such, we are both proud and honored to announce that we’ve got an exclusive licensing agreement with Ritchey Design™ to re-issue these awesome tires, which will be available in black and red, and in 2.1” and 2.35” widths.
Like nearly every tire from the era, no original molds nor drawings exist, so in cooperation with our tire partner Panaracer™, we are now deep in the painstaking process of re-drawing them.
Meaningful updates here as I have them. As always, we appreciate your patience and support.
